Breathing, a natural act, significantly impacts our well-being. Many of us habitually breathe incorrectly. Indigenous tribes worldwide recognised the importance of proper breathing, a wisdom revived in Western thought by George Catlin in the 1830s.

Catlin, a Philadelphia attorney turned painter, immersed himself in Indigenous American life during a six-year journey across the Great Plains. Documenting 50 Native American tribes, he observed their excellent dental health, attributing it to what he termed the 'great secret of life' —proper breathing.

The indigenous belief that mouth inhalation weakens the body, deforms the face, and induces stress and disease contrasts with the strength, beauty, and disease prevention associated with nose breathing. This perspective echoes across various indigenous cultures globally.

The perfect breath : 5.5 second inhale - 5.5 second exhale, through the nose. Modern research underscores the impact of breathing on our well-being. Slight adjustments to inhalation and exhalation can enhance athletic performance, revitalise internal organs, alleviate snoring, asthma, and autoimmune diseases, and even correct scoliotic spines.
